Hike in and around the most beautiful valley in the High Atlas

Ait Bougmez is perhaps the most friendly, laid back and picturesque valley in the High Atlas - a place where its people respect their traditions and their environment. The result is a beautifully cultivated valley with attractive vernacular mud brick architecture, surrounded by an amphitheatre of stunning mountains, the highest of which is M'Goun, the country's second highest peak. This itinerary uses basic gite accommodation in the valley and upgrade options are available to those wishing to stay in a lodge. Water flows year round through the valley and surrounding canyons and it's a great place to while away a few days - particularly for families. We visit the spectacular Ouzoud Falls on the way and have a day free in exotic Marrakech at the end, where we use an authentic guest house in the ancient medina as our base.

	Day 1 : Arrive Marrakech
	Day 2 : Transfer to Ait Bougmez visiting the Ouzoud Falls en route
	Overnight in gite accommodation in "the happy valley"
	Days 3 - 6 : Four varied day hikes in and around the Bougmez valley
	including visits to traditional houses, fortified granaries, holy shrines,
	gorges, and time spent in the beautiful surrounding mountains
	nights spent in local "gites".
	Day 6 : Afternoon transfer back to Marrakech, night in traditional "riad"
	Day 7 : Free day in Marrakech, overnight riad.
	Day 8: Depart Marrakech
