Epic Morocco was founded in 2005, following a period of extensive exploration and research. The company is based in Marrakech and is still closely managed by its founder. People often ask what makes us different from the many travel companies organising holidays to Morocco, and much of the difference lies in the fact that we are based in Marrakech and owner-managed. Charlie has extensive travel industry experience as well as over a decade of Moroccan exploration under his belt, and these two characteristics, together with a passion for creating ideas and itineraries, make him an expert in his field.

Over the course of our ten years of operation, the spirit and philosophy of Epic Morocco has remained unchanged. Our objective is for our guests to discover the real Morocco. We believe that great travel experiences come in many forms – from a simple tajine taken with locals in a market-side cafe, to a luxurious night spent in a converted palace – two ends of a scale but both leaving their mark and contributing to the variety that all good trips should have. Adventure and discovery remain at the heart of what we do, and if your focus is on off-the-beaten-track places that you would not normally stumble across without assistance, then we would urge you to get in touch with us to explain your requirements.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to Morocco.

Charlie is the founder of Epic Morocco and has been working in tourism for two decades. After an extensive period of world travel he joined a Latin American tour operator and managed their adventure tours department. After seven years working in London he felt it was time to spread his wings and set up his own company. Epic Morocco was born after a series of visits to Morocco when he and his better half fell in love with the country. His hands-on approach to managing his company has won Epic Morocco many loyal clients and his ground knowledge and local relationships help Epic Morocco to stand out from the competition. He divides his time between creating exciting itineraries, looking after clients, managing the day-to-day running of the company from their office in Marrakech, running ultra marathons, and bringing up three young children.

Penny joined the Epic Morocco team in 2011 and relocating to Marrakech from her native Northumberland meant a radical change in temperature for her. She brings with her over twenty years experience in tourism, including lengthy stints in both Leisure and Corporate travel as well as Event Management. She is at her happiest when travelling herself, so it made sense for her to come to the home of the original Nomads – Morocco. She heads up our Sales team and divides her time between the UK and Morocco.

Stef joined Epic Morocco recently, and brings with her a wealth of private events experience. She is a multi-tasking genius who brings to our events a calm focus and a "zen" attitude. Amongst the work, she manages to find time to practise her passions of yoga and Chinese medicine. The Boss's Verdict : Incredibly calm, pragmatic and streetwise, Stef is a dream to have working on the events side of our business. Her book of contacts, amassed over 12 years in Morocco, is extensive and it would be hard to find a more capable, energetic and passionate character.

Mariem, born and raised in Marrakech, heads our on-the-ground operations department, ensuring the smooth running of all of our trips.  She has a young son, has a penchant for nice restaurants, and likes rather too much sugar in her coffee. The Boss's Verdict :  While we are all off looking after guests in Morocco, Mariem is very often the one responsible for the less fun tasks back in the office. A true ship-steadier and a safe pair of hands, Mariem is the Rock of the Epic Morocco team.

Jamila joined Epic Morocco's Operations department in 2015 and comes from a background of working in tourism in her home town of Agadir. With her new job came a change of lifestyle from the seaside resort of Agadir to the frenetic oasis town of Marrakech. Jamila speaks multiple languages and has a great thirst for knowledge. The Boss's Verdict : Jamila seems to love working and what more can a boss ask! She is always keen for a new challenge and likes to keep occupied, which is a good thing working in tourism. Her knowledge of the "bigger picture" in tourism makes her a very useful addition to the team.

Saaid is one of our longest standing team members. He works as a guide both in Marrakech, and, when we take groups into the hills and deserts of Morocco. When he's not working (he works a lot), he likes cycling, socialising, and he's a pretty serious football fan. The Boss's Verdict :  We always like to show our guests an experience that goes beyond the souks of Marrakech, and Saaid's expert knowledge, enthusiasm, organisational skills, and inter-personal capabilities make him invaluable to us in the remoter areas in which we work.

Lahoucein is a Berber from the High Atlas Mountains who has settled with his six children in Marrakech. His role is to coordinate our team of expert guides. A qualified city and mountain guide himself, he brings maturity and experience to the team. The Boss's Verdict : Lahoucein is a rather unique character. Knowledgeable and educated beyond his simple upbringing in a remote village, he offers us several options as leader or organiser. His contacts and his in-depth historical insight make him a versatile and supremely useful member of the team.

Simo is from Marrakech, and is the youngest member of the Epic Morocco team. He is a versatile young man who divides his time between assisting the operations team, and helping our guides out in the field. Simo has a creative streak in him and he enjoys making films and DJ-ing. The Boss's Verdict :  Just like every film shoot needs a fixer, every event needs a runner. Simo is a superbly capable assistant, and an excellent executer of diverse tasks, from sourcing guest gifts in the souks to servicing client requests, however obscure.
